Throwback Thursdays

While in high school I discovered poetry through the nudging of my 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Smith. I remember her fondly because not only was she supportive of my writing she was quite a quirky bird. She often referred to Robert Frost as Bobbie as if he were a close friend, acquaintance or even a lover. She loved poetry, so through her I discovered I did as well. And for a few years of flighty youth, I wrote various themes and subjects.

Not all my poetry survived those early days and luckily some were salvaged and last summer every Thursday I posted what I thought were the best of those.

I haven’t written any new poetry in the better part of two decades. Maybe I should lean once again on lyrical thought.
