Nestled in the foothills of West Virginia, Ron Earl Phillips lives with his wife, Colleen, and his daughter, Kassy, and one cat too many. Currently he is the managing editor for Shotgun Honey, an online flashzine specializing in crime fiction since 2011. Prior to that he owned and managed Netizen Media, an internet design and hosting company, for nearly a decade before deciding to focus on writing. Ron was also contributing editor for Digital Webbing Press, a small press comic book company who published Digital Webbing Presents, Fist of Justice, Bloodrayne and a host of independent effort. He currently works as a lead web developer for a local news media outlet to keep the lights on and the fridge full.
With an avid interest in art and design, Ron has become fascinated by the subtleties of book design, from cover concept to text layout. In 2012 to limited clientele, he is now working with authors and small publishers, using his prior design skill to produce books and develop promotional websites under the Coaster Books and Design umbrella. He hopes to continue these services in the future on a limited basis, so he can continue his own goals as a writer of crime and thriller fiction.
Ron Earl Phillips’ work has been included on A Twist of Noir webzine, and in the collections The Lost Children: Volume 1, Beat to a Pulp: Hardboiled, Off The Record, and Feeding Kate. He is currently working on his short story collection, Six Feet Cold, as well as two historical crime novels. He hopes to add a few new contributions in the new year to anthologies and zines.
